Efficient Ways to Cover UGC NET English Literature Syllabus

Anything we want to accomplish depends on two things mainly “Plan and Execution.” If both go well then nothing can stop you from achieving what you want. Towards the end of this blog, you will get a blueprint to get your NET/JRF in your very first attempt.

Understanding UGC NET English Syllabus:  Before you jump into this vast ocean of English literature analyze the syllabus.

Ways to analyze:

Write down all the units in order to understand from where most of the questions are being asked. The first four units are really vast. Here 50% of the questions are asked from British literature only. The rest of the questions will be formed from world literature; which includes American literature, European Literature, African Literature, and Indian Literature.

The next confusion which you will face is what to read.

Here Previous Years Questions will play the pivotal role in giving you an exact idea about what to read and what to skip. Go through PYQPs and segregate the given topics  under all the ten units accordingly.  Once you have the list of the writers, theorists, works, and terms just read them with unwavering focus.  Don’t run unnecessarily after irrelevant authors and novels.

Your Next question will be about where to cover the syllabus? What are the right books and resources? What I would suggest is, according to my experience, to search every single topic on google that you have taken down from UGC NET English Literature PYQPs. Google is the best resource that you have. There is not a single book that can cater to the need  of  UGC NET aspirants.

Here I am mentioning some of the books which will help you to understand the concepts:
